A Madhubani saree carries one of India's oldest visual languages. Madhubani — or Mithila — art is a 2,500-year-old painting tradition from Bihar, built on geometric pattern and nature motifs: fish, birds, lotus, peacock, sun and moon. Once painted on walls and floors at festival time, it now holds a Government of India GI tag.

Koshnika's Madhubani-inspired sarees translate that language into wearable prints on natural Tussar silk and Chanderi. You get the cultural depth and the visual richness without the fragility, or the price, of a hand-painted original. The full story of the art form is here.

Fish, lotus, peacock and geometric borders, printed on fabric warm and textured enough to do the motifs justice. Suited to festive occasions, formal events and gifting. Curious about the base cloth? Read Tussar silk vs mulberry silk, or browse the full Tussar silk range.
